Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Hyundai Engineering recently announced on the 30th that employees voluntarily collected approximately 260 million KRW over the past year through salary donations to create the 'Love Sharing Fund,' which was donated to the Gwanghwamun Community Chest of Korea.
The Love Sharing Fund has been ongoing for 11 years since 2010, based on employees' voluntary participation in salary donations, raising about 3.55 billion KRW to date to support marginalized groups in local communities. In particular, it has been used for projects such as providing hygiene and health kits to underprivileged groups in the Philippines, replacing high-efficiency LED lighting in domestic social welfare facilities and vulnerable households, improving residential environments in the Jongno area, and supplying food to vulnerable groups.
Earlier, Hyundai Engineering & Construction carried out Section 1 of the railway construction project connecting Malolos in northern Manila to Clark in the Philippines, delivering food and hygiene kits to residents of Apalit and Calumpit to improve their livelihoods and hygiene.
In the economically and medically disadvantaged local environment, about 7,800 households received COVID-19 hygiene kits (masks, hand sanitizers) and food supplies (rice, canned goods, sugar, etc.). By April next year, additional support will be provided to local schools with insufficient non-face-to-face education facilities, including computers and school supplies.
