Year-End, Please! Traders Charcuterie Platter
With this anju...
I can drink two bottles of wine.
The second year-end wearing masks. Due to the persistent spread of COVID-19, gatherings with many people feel burdensome, so this year's year-end party was decided to be held online as well.
There are exactly three things needed for an online gathering: a top that gives a stylish year-end vibe (no need for bottoms, sleep pants will do), a unique virtual background, and delicious food. Among these, the most important is undoubtedly the food. Although you can't share it with people on the screen, having tasty food really livens up the atmosphere!
Wondering what to prepare this year, I chose a charcuterie platter that pairs well with any kind of alcohol. Even though it’s an online gathering attended in sleep pants... I wanted to somehow create a romantic bar vibe.
The editor’s PICK is Emart Traders Charcuterie Platter. It comes in a plastic container that looks like a wooden cutting board, containing cheese, European-style charcuterie, and dried fruits.
First, let’s look at the cheese. This platter includes cheddar, pepper jack, colby jack, and smoked cheese. Cheddar, pepper jack, and colby jack are cut into cubes, while the smoked cheese is sliced into half-moon shapes. All four cheeses are appealing, but the spicy and stimulating pepper jack and the subtly smoky smoked cheese were especially excellent. It’s the kind of taste that makes you want to keep drinking wine endlessly. The amount of cheese in the platter is generous enough for two people.
The charcuterie consists of five types, allowing you to taste a variety of processed meats in small portions. It includes salami, a salted and dried sausage; salchich?n and chorizo from the Iberian Peninsula; pepperoni snacks and semi-dried sausage called kabanos grouped in one corner; and jam?n. I was worried about any distinctive smell, but it was surprisingly clean. Overall, the flavors are salty, and the pepperoni and chorizo are slightly spicy, pairing well not only with wine but also with beer. They are good to eat alone, but pairing them with sweet fruits would make the taste even richer.
Various dried fruits that add sweetness also occupy one corner. There is dried mango, dried cherry, dried plum, and dried fig, offering quite a variety. The dried fig was a fantastic match with the cheese and processed meats, tasting sweet as if soaked in honey between its chewy flesh, harmonizing well with the salty flavors. The thrilling sweet and salty combination of cheese, salami, and dried fruits was exquisite.
Emart Traders’ platter is attractive because you can enjoy various cheeses and charcuterie without worrying about side dishes. It’s a bit disappointing that there are no fresh fruits or olives, but the variety of snacks included and the generous amount enough for two people were satisfying. If you like wine and beer or are preparing a cozy small home party (or an online party) with atmosphere, how about spending a delicious and enjoyable time with this platter?
Happy New Year with delicious snacks!
