Korea Student Aid Foundation Announces Recruitment for '1st Semester Blue Lighthouse Donation Scholarship' Recipients

Up to 2.5 million KRW support for low-income college students
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Korea Student Aid Foundation announced on the 28th that it will select 1,132 new scholarship recipients for the '2022 1st Semester Blue Lighthouse Donation Scholarship,' which provides scholarships to low-income college students through donations from corporations and individuals.
The Blue Lighthouse Donation Scholarship is a program that supports outstanding low-income college students and is funded by donations collected from corporations and individuals. Since 2009, it has provided 28.4 billion KRW in tuition and living expenses support.
The total amount for the 2022 1st semester donation scholarship is 1.7 billion KRW, and 1,132 scholarship recipients will be selected. The donors include individuals and corporations such as ▲Singer Hong Jin-young ▲Construction Workers Mutual Aid Association ▲Korea LPG Association ▲Malnam Scholarship ▲Office Finance Ubuntu Foundation ▲Yu Ji-woong Donation Scholarship ▲Korea Electric Power Corporation ▲Korea Land and Housing Corporation ▲Korea Investment Corporation ▲Home&Shopping ▲KDB Sharing Foundation ▲KOSAF Donation Fund Type II (corporate and individual donations).
Any college student can apply for the Blue Lighthouse Donation Scholarship. Applications are accepted 24 hours a day through the Korea Student Aid Foundation website and mobile app. The application period is from 9 a.m. on the 30th until 6 p.m. on January 12.

The selection results are scheduled to be announced in early April next year. Selected scholarship recipients will receive living expense scholarships ranging from 1 million KRW to a maximum of 2.5 million KRW per semester.
