Lee Donseung, Chairman of Wanju Education Governance, Appointed as Deputy Head of the Democratic Party's Election Committee Organization Headquarters
[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Lee Don-seung (62), chairman of the Wanju Education Governance Committee, has been appointed as the Deputy Director of the Organization Headquarters of the Democratic Party’s Lee Jae-myung presidential campaign committee.
On the 28th, Deputy Director Lee received his appointment letter from Lee Won-wook, Director of the Organization Headquarters, at the Democratic Party headquarters’ 4th floor, Meeting Room 1, as the Deputy Director of the Organization Headquarters for the 20th presidential election under the Korea Great Transformation campaign.
Director Lee Won-wook said, “Deputy Director Lee Don-seung played a major role in the Democratic Party’s victories not only in the 19th presidential election but also in the 20th and 21st general elections. We expect his ability and passion to awaken dormant public organizations with the determination of ‘We are Lee Jae-myung’ to contribute to the launch of the 4th Democratic government in this fiercely competitive presidential election.”
Deputy Director Lee Don-seung emphasized, “I feel a heavy responsibility in taking on an important role in next year’s presidential election. To win the election, it is crucial to achieve a high voter turnout in Jeonbuk, the traditional support base, and to convert this into a support force. I will focus on this and travel throughout Jeonbuk.”
He also expressed his determination, saying, “Based on my experience as the general director of Moon Jae-in’s Wanju County campaign headquarters during the 2017 presidential election, where we achieved a support rate of 65.97%, ranking 6th nationwide in Wanju County, I will strive to record the highest support rate nationwide in this presidential election.”
Through this, Deputy Director Lee stated that he will take the lead in establishing the 4th Democratic government that inherits the legal tradition of the Provisional Government and comes closer to the people based on the foundation of the 1st to 3rd Democratic governments.
Deputy Director Lee Don-seung, a graduate of Jeonra High School and Jeonbuk National University, has served as president of the Jeonbuk National University student council, chairman of the Insurance Supervisory Service labor union, chairman of the labor union council of financial supervisory agencies (Bank of Korea, Securities Supervisory Service, Insurance Supervisory Service), administrative officer of President Kim Dae-jung’s transition committee, chairman of the Democratic Party’s venture business special committee, and planning committee member of the Democratic Party’s strategic planning committee. He also served as senior advisor to Democratic Party candidate Ahn Ho-young’s 20th general election campaign, general director of Moon Jae-in’s Wanju County campaign headquarters in the 19th presidential election, and senior vice chairman of the Wanju County Sports Council. Currently, he is the chairman of the Wanju Education Governance Committee.
In particular, he is preparing to rejoin the party early next year following the Democratic Party’s push for unity within the ruling party.
