U+ Altteul Phone Donates Over 100 Million KRW Raised Through Donation Rate Plan to Korean Red Cross

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] LG Uplus announced on the 28th that it has donated a total accumulated donation of 115.5 million KRW collected through the U+ Altteul Phone exclusive donation plan ‘Hope Windmill’ from October last year to December this year to the Korean Red Cross.
The collected donations will be used to support families in welfare blind spots and marginalized groups.
The donation ceremony was held on the 24th at the Korean Red Cross Seoul Office, attended by Lee Sangcheon, Secretary General of the Korean Red Cross, Park Jongsul, Director of Planning and Coordination, Kim Eunsook, Head of ESG Cooperation Team, Park Jundong, Head of Consumer Service Group at LG Uplus, Yoo Hoseong, MVNO Business Manager, Kim Myungho, MVNO Sales Team 2 Manager, and three U+ Altteul Phone customers.
The U+ Altteul Phone exclusive Hope Windmill plan is the first donation-linked promotion product in Korea. It was conducted as Season 2 from October last year to February this year, and again as Season 2 from July to September this year. For up to 12 months from the subscription date, 10% of the monthly basic fee is automatically accumulated, and the accumulated amount is donated annually at the end of the year under the customer's name. The entire donation cost is borne by LG Uplus.
According to U+ Altteul Phone, about 3,200 customers subscribed to the Hope Windmill plan during Season 1. Notably, customers in their 20s accounted for about 40%. During the Hope Windmill promotion Season 2 from July to September this year, 700 people subscribed within just three months of opening.

The Hope Windmill plan, priced at 33,000 KRW per month (including VAT), provides 11GB of data and basic voice calls and text messages. After all data is used up, an additional 2GB per day (QoS 3Mbps) is provided.
