The Born Korea Paikdabang Launches Two Types of Ssuk Beverages
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Baekdabang, operated by The Born Korea, announced on the 28th that it will launch two beverages using the traditional Korean ingredient ‘ssuk’ (mugwort) for the winter season: Ssuk Ssuk Latte and Ssuk Ssuk Baeksccino.
The new menu was developed reflecting customers' demand for drinks made with healthy ingredients amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, featuring domestically sourced ssuk. Notably, it subtly captures the unique slightly bitter flavor of ssuk, known for aiding blood circulation, warming the body, and its detoxifying effects, making it enjoyable for everyone without strong likes or dislikes.
The Ssuk Ssuk Latte is a menu item well-suited for cold weather, harmonizing the gentle aroma of ssuk with smooth milk to provide a richer, more savory, and satisfying fullness.
The Ssuk Ssuk Baeksccino is a blended beverage combining ssuk powder, milk, and ice, which can be topped with soft ice cream for a sweeter taste according to preference.

Both Ssuk Ssuk Latte and Ssuk Ssuk Baeksccino can be enjoyed with soy milk instead of regular milk to enhance the nutty flavor of ssuk, and are sold nationwide at Baekdabang stores except for some locations at a reasonable price. However, an additional 500 KRW will be charged for soy milk substitution.
