Ulju-gun Receives Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Commendation at the 1st Housing Welfare Awards
Achievements Including Interest Support for Newlywed Couples' Purchase and Jeonse Loan Funds
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Intern Reporter Lee Seryeong] Ulju-gun, Ulsan, was selected as an excellent basic local government in the 1st Housing Welfare Awards hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and received a commendation from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The county was recognized for the results of policies considering population decline, such as supporting loan interest for newlywed couples' purchase and jeonse funds, providing housing costs for up to two years to newlywed couples, and supporting housing for return-to-farming and return-to-village residents.
The Housing Welfare Awards, held for the first time this year, evaluate customized housing welfare policies focusing on local governments' specialized housing welfare projects and award local governments that have improved residents' housing rights and living conditions.
Starting next year, to increase local governments' proactive participation in housing welfare policies, additional rewards will be prepared, such as giving extra points when participating in competitive public rental housing projects, in addition to awarding commendations.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport selected 10 excellent local governments, including Ulju-gun, among 87 local governments through expert evaluations, and awarded them at the 17th Housing Welfare Festival held online on the 23rd.
