Subway explained that the price increase is a measure to improve the profitability of franchise stores, which has worsened due to increased overall costs such as rising international food raw material prices for meat, poultry, and eggs; a surge in shipping freight costs caused by the global logistics crisis; increased commission fees due to a rise in delivery orders; and increases in minimum wage and exchange rates.
