[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 26th that it held a report meeting on the collection measures for carry-over arrears of non-tax revenue this year on the 22nd to systematically manage non-tax revenue and stably secure autonomous financial resources.
The report meeting was attended by department heads and team leaders of departments with carry-over arrears of non-tax revenue exceeding 10 million won, who reported on the collection performance of arrears so far and discussed future collection strategies.
Deputy Governor Im Yunseop, who presided over the meeting, said, "Every year, new arrears are carried over, which negatively affects the finances," and urged, "Please do your best to minimize carry-over arrears for sound local financial management."
Jangseong-gun plans to encourage small businesses, self-employed individuals, and livelihood-type defaulters to pay their arrears in installments through sending delinquency notices, phone calls, and on-site visits, while imposing strong administrative measures such as public disclosure of names and auctioning of seized property on habitual and intentional defaulters.
