Chungnam to Expand 56 Green Infrastructure Sites Including Urban Forests Next Year
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will add green infrastructure to 56 locations around living areas next year.
The province announced on the 26th that it will expand green infrastructure such as 12 urban forests, 19 school forests, 16 fine dust blocking forests, 3 child-safe green forests, and 6 living proximity forests in local living zones.
To additionally create urban forests and others, the province plans to invest 33 billion KRW in five projects next year.

Lee Sang-chun, Director of the Provincial Forest Resources Division, said, “We will increase green infrastructure such as urban forests around living areas so that local residents can easily access green welfare services nearby,” adding, “Expanding green infrastructure will not only provide spaces for rest but also improve air quality by reducing fine dust.”
