SK Earthon Partners with EnerZai to Introduce AI Technology in Oil Development and CCS Projects
SK EarthOn and Enerjai Sign MOU to Strengthen Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology Capabilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SK Earth On is partnering with domestic small and medium-sized enterprises to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
On the 24th, SK Earth On and Enerjai, an AI solution development company, announced that they have signed a business agreement to strengthen AI technology capabilities in the fields of oil development and carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) projects.
This agreement is significant in that SK Earth On not only acquires excellent AI technology but also contributes to the creation of a domestic social economy ecosystem by coexisting with small and medium-sized enterprises.
According to the agreement, SK Earth On and Enerjai plan to exchange their respective oil development and AI/DT technologies, jointly research and develop AI and DT technologies, and explore commercialization in various fields.
Enerjai, a startup established in 2019, has independently developed and owns 'Edge AI technology.' This technology enables real-time AI-based data analysis directly on various devices such as oil drilling equipment without the need for massive data transmission and processing through separate servers. As a result, it is known to significantly improve the limitations of existing 'cloud-based AI technology,' such as excessive network dependency, data processing delays due to large-scale data analysis, and high processing costs.
The two companies expect that by combining Enerjai's AI technology with SK Earth On's overseas oil development infrastructure and offshore exploration and drilling capabilities, they will greatly improve efficiency in the oil development process by increasing resource exploration accuracy and reducing operating costs.
