In terms of crisis management, the city was highly evaluated for its efforts such as ▲establishing a practical civil defense evacuation plan every year so that residents can evacuate quickly in case of an emergency ▲newly expanding evacuation facilities in new urban areas such as Haeryong-myeon and Seo-myeon (a 52% increase in evacuation facility securing rate compared to the previous year) ▲and continuously expanding and managing evacuation facilities for citizen safety by canceling the designation of inappropriate evacuation facilities that do not meet the designation criteria among existing facilities, which led to the award.
In particular, when establishing the civil defense evacuation plan, the city secured optimal evacuation routes by installing signboards, including a plan for installing signposts, and since 2018, it has spent about 44 million won to install 376 items such as standing signs, guide signs, directional signs, and emergency supply boxes.
Furthermore, the city was recognized for its great contribution by regularly inspecting emergency evacuation facilities to ensure they are maintained and managed so that they can be used without any issues in case of emergencies.
Regarding outdoor advertising, the city received the Governor of Jeollanam-do Commendation for successfully implementing various policies to create a clean and pleasant street environment, including ▲implementing a reward system for collecting illegal floating advertisements ▲removing illegal advertisements using public labor ▲campaigns to eradicate illegal advertisements ▲safety inspections of outdoor advertisements in preparation for wind and flood disasters ▲grading system for outdoor advertising facilities ▲hosting the Jeollanam-do Outdoor Advertising Exhibition ▲and establishing a development fund for outdoor advertising.
Additionally, in the building administration evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the city received excellent evaluations overall, including the implementation of building policies, achieving the remarkable feat of being selected as an excellent local government for building administration for two consecutive years following last year.
