Kia EV6, 30,000 Pre-Orders Surge... 3.5-Second 0-100 km/h Flash Shines
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Kia launched its first dedicated electric vehicle, the ‘EV6’, last August.
On the first day of pre-orders, the EV6 recorded a historic high of 21,016 units, the largest ever among Kia’s passenger cars and sport utility vehicles (SUVs). During the pre-order period, it attracted over 30,000 reservations, demonstrating its popularity.
The EV6’s key features include the country’s first zero-to-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.5 seconds (based on the GT model), eco-friendly materials, a multi-charging system capable of 800V ultra-fast charging, and Vehicle To Load (V2L), a mobile energy storage system (ESS).
In particular, the EV6 Long Range model is equipped with a 77.4 kWh battery, enabling a maximum driving range of 475 km per single charge (2WD, 19-inch wheels, without built-in cam). The Standard model comes with a 58.0 kWh battery, certified for a maximum driving range of 370 km (2WD).

Regarding the selection ratio by EV6 model, Kia explained that 70% of pre-order customers chose the Long Range. Following the Long Range, the GT-Line accounted for 24% of selections, which is interpreted as reflecting both demand for differentiated design and customer satisfaction with dynamic styling.
