On the 23rd, Hyundai Doosan Infracore announced that, thanks to increased sales of large equipment and customer-tailored attachments, it is expected to record a historic high sales figure of 620 billion KRW.
This marks the highest figure in 24 years since achieving 480 billion KRW in 1997 during the Daewoo Heavy Industries era. The company also forecasted that sales volume will reach about 5,500 units, the highest since 1997.
Hyundai Doosan Infracore explained that sales of large excavators over 38 tons in the domestic market increased by 42%, from 95 units last year to 135 units this year, and that the newly launched demolition excavator lineup, a special site-customized large equipment, saw sales rise from 19 units last year to 26 units.
Additionally, to enhance work convenience for excavator customers, the company entered the attachment market for the first time this year, selling over 2,700 units of products such as grapples, rotation links, and tiltrotators (attachments that precisely adjust the tilt and tilt-back of excavator buckets), contributing to sales growth.
Hyundai Construction Equipment is also expected to sell a total of about 3,000 construction machines in the domestic market this year, generating sales of 290 billion KRW. This is the highest performance since 324.5 billion KRW recorded in 2017.
Hyundai Construction Equipment explained that its eco-friendly, high-efficiency strategic model "A Series," which meets the Stage V emission regulations, received favorable market reviews and contributed to increased sales. Expansion of the high-spec attachment business and an increased proportion of large equipment sales also drove performance.
The domestic construction equipment market entering a boom period for the first time in 10 years also stimulated the performance growth of the two companies. According to the Korea Construction Equipment Industry Association, cumulative domestic construction equipment sales reached 27,952 units by October this year, a 28.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
Furthermore, with the resumption of large-scale local construction projects that had been subdued due to the COVID-19 pandemic, excavator sales exceeded 1,000 units per month for six consecutive months for the first time this year.
