[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] As the importance of R&D for carbon neutrality response grows, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) is stepping up to support carbon neutrality R&D patent strategies for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies.
The KCCI and the Korea Patent Strategy Development Institute (KPSDI) announced that they signed a "Carbon Neutral Technology Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding" ahead of the "2021 Patent Big Data-Based Promising Technology Conference (co-hosted by KCCI and KPSDI)" held at Samjung Hotel on the 23rd.
The Korea Patent Strategy Development Institute is a quasi-governmental organization under the Korean Intellectual Property Office, established as a specialized intellectual property strategy institution to systematically support government and private sector intellectual property R&D and to assist in the commercialization of intellectual property.
Through the MOU, the two organizations agreed to cooperate on ▲supporting SMEs and mid-sized companies in establishing carbon neutrality patent strategies (including patent strategy education, consulting, seminars, etc.) ▲supporting the utilization of intellectual property rights ▲discovering promising technologies and supporting commercialization through domestic and international patent analysis ▲exchanging specialized personnel in carbon neutrality patents as well as technology and industry information.
