View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Kim Jong-in, the head of the People Power Party's election countermeasures committee, announced a plan to reform the committee as a way to resolve the conflict between Representative Lee Jun-seok and former public relations director Jo Su-jin. Regarding the possibility of Lee's return, he drew a line, saying, "I judge that it has been settled by his resignation."
On the afternoon of the 22nd, Kim held a press conference at the central party office in Yeouido, Seoul, stating, "Isn't it customary for a politician to accept what they declare once in front of the people?" He added, "Therefore, we consider the incident that occurred between Representative Lee and former public relations director Jo Su-jin until yesterday as closed, and we have a new determination on how our election committee will efficiently engage in the election going forward."
He also referred to the discovery of Kim Moon-gi, head of Development Division 1 at Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, found dead the previous day, urging public opinion by saying, "For Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, to clear public suspicion, the Democratic Party must immediately conduct a special investigation."
Earlier, Kim made it clear that he intends to strengthen the function of the General Situation Headquarters. Unlike the Democratic Party's approach of a large-scale overhaul of the election committee, the plan is to reform the existing committee. After a luncheon meeting with Representative Lee at a hotel in Jongno-gu, Seoul, he told reporters, "The General Situation Headquarters will faithfully perform its functions as originally intended," explaining, "(The General Situation Headquarters) will hold daily discussions and coordinate candidate schedules and messages based on decisions made there, rather than neglecting them as before, enabling the election committee to function more efficiently."
At the press conference, Im Tae-hee, head of the General Situation Headquarters, also explained, "Since the General Situation Headquarters was organized somewhat late, it is true that the work practices, discussion structures, and consultation systems were not systematic," adding, "Now that we have changed to a structure where we discuss together at one table, unlike before, problems will be resolved."
Regarding other departments, he said, "The Organization Headquarters is led by Chief Joo Ho-young, and the Policy Headquarters by Chief Won Hee-ryong, so the organization is not as large as expected," adding, "The issue is whether horizontal cooperation works smoothly, and we are thinking of establishing an organic work system through daily coordination meetings." There is a plan to hold daily meetings centered on Secretary-General Kwon Seong-dong, Head Im, and the staff of the General Situation Headquarters to discuss work.

However, concerning the resolution of the 'Yunhaekgwan' (key figures in Yoon Seok-yeol's camp) issue pointed out by Representative Lee, he responded, "I do not know the exact reality," and said, "I hope the media will judge while observing the progress of work." Regarding issues related to Yoon candidate's spouse Kim Geon-hee, he avoided a direct answer, saying, "That's all for today."
