Naver Webtoon Acquires Locus, Developer of Virtual Human 'Rozy', for 23.4 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver Webtoon is acquiring Locus, the developer of the virtual influencer 'Lozy'.
Naver Webtoon announced on the 22nd that it acquired 52.19% of the shares of Locus, a company specializing in computer graphics (CG) and visual effects (VFX), for 23,484,770,000 KRW.
Locus was also responsible for the 3D animation in the Naver Webtoon original drama 'Yumi's Cells'.

With this equity investment, Naver Webtoon plans to create synergy by collaborating on the animation of Naver Webtoon's intellectual property (IP). There are also expectations that by utilizing Locus's technology, various Naver Webtoon characters can be introduced in the metaverse in the future.
