[2022 Regular Admission] Sungkyunkwan University to Select 1,448 Students... Check Changes in Recruitment Groups
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Sungkyunkwan University will select a total of 1,448 students in this year's regular admission. This accounts for about 40.1% of the total recruitment quota, an increase of 320 students compared to the previous year.
In the regular admission, 741 students will be selected in Group A and 707 in Group B. Both humanities and natural sciences select students 100% based on the CSAT scores in both groups A and B, while arts and physical education select students in Group B based on CSAT scores and practical exams. For the Department of Art and Design, 60% of the selection is based on CSAT and 40% on practical exams, and for Sports Science, 80% on CSAT and 20% on practical exams.
Since the 2022 academic year, the recruitment groups have changed. Except for the Department of Global Economics in the humanities Group A, the recruitment units in Group A moved to Group B, and those in Group B moved to Group A. If there is no change in recruitment groups this year, it can be a variable in admission results, so it should be considered as a factor when applying.
When applying to Sungkyunkwan University, attention should be paid to the large-scale recruitment units. Freshmen are selected through large-scale recruitment units (Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering) that integrate various departments into one. The large-scale recruitment units have more recruitment numbers than individual departments, so changes in admission scores due to competition rates are relatively small, and students of similar levels apply and are admitted every year.
The CSAT subject reflection ratios for the humanities are Korean (40%), Mathematics (40%), and Social/Science Exploration (20%), and for natural sciences are Korean (25%), Mathematics (40%), and Science Exploration (35%). For arts and physical education, the reflection ratios vary by department, so applicants should carefully check the recruitment guidelines. English and Korean History apply the same standards across all recruitment units and provide additional points by grade.
Information sessions for regular admission applicants will be held nationwide until the 29th, and counseling sessions will be held from 2 p.m. on the 27th until 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 2. Applications can be made on the Admissions Office website.
