Contributing to Active Administration and Promotion of Agricultural, Marine Specialties, Festivals, Culture, and Tourism

[Jindo＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Mr. Oh Gwi-seok of the Planning and Budget Division at Jindo County Office recently received the ‘Outstanding Public Official Award’ at the 9th DBS Dong-A Broadcasting Awards 2021 Gwangju·Jeonnam People Who Shined Ceremony.

The DBS Dong-A Broadcasting Awards are given to individuals who have contributed to regional development throughout 2021 in fields such as legislation, administration, social contribution, management innovation, local governments, and institutions.

Mr. Oh Gwi-seok, who received the Outstanding Public Official Award, was recognized for his achievements as a public relations specialist who has established and promoted effective publicity strategies by period, theme, and field through newspapers, broadcasting, and SNS media.

In particular, he was highly praised for his efforts to develop Jindo County into a representative city of the southwestern coast of Jeonnam through diverse and systematic promotion of differentiated agricultural, marine specialty products, and tourist attractions, always maintaining his original intention.

He also drew attention for his warm-hearted volunteer activities, active promotion of pending projects for regional development, inducing local economic revitalization through various social activities, and providing courteous civil service.

Mr. Oh Gwi-seok was previously selected as an outstanding public official for proactive administration in 2020, contributing to the development of Jindo County and the enhancement of residents’ convenience with an active and creative attitude.

Mr. Oh said in his acceptance speech, “I am grateful to my fellow public officials and the residents who have supported me in every way to widely promote the treasure island Jindo County. I feel a strong sense of mission and responsibility and will do my best for regional development and residents’ happiness.”

This year’s ceremony was held individually at the company’s studio in compliance with quarantine rules due to the rapid increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases after the implementation of With Corona, instead of the usual large-scale event.

Meanwhile, the DBS Dong-A Broadcasting Awards 2021 Gwangju·Jeonnam People Who Shined, established as a prestigious award in Gwangju and Jeonnam, was hosted by DBS Gwangju Dong-A Broadcasting and sponsored by Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeollanam-do.
