Fire in Paju Villa... 3 Family Members Including 110-Year-Old Mother Dead
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] A fire broke out in a villa in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, resulting in the deaths of three family members.
According to police and fire authorities on the 19th, the fire occurred around 7:05 a.m. on the third floor of a three-story villa in Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju-si.
Due to the fire, A (110 years old, female), A's daughter (70), and son-in-law (73) were found unconscious inside the house. The 119 emergency medical team performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and transported them to the hospital, but they died.
The fire completely burned the interior of the approximately 30-pyeong villa and was extinguished by the dispatched firefighters in about 40 minutes.
A neighboring resident told the police, "I woke up to the sound of loud bangs and dogs barking. When I saw smoke filling the master bedroom, I called 119."
