Hyosung TNC's 'Regen' Becomes Eco-Friendly Workwear for Hyundai Heavy Industries Group
Hyosung TNC, Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, and Hyundai Livart Sign MOU for 'Regen Project'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Hyosung TNC's representative domestic eco-friendly recycled fiber, regen®, is becoming the eco-friendly workwear of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group.
On the 17th, Hyosung TNC signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for business collaboration with Hyundai Heavy Industries Group and Hyundai Livart to promote the 'Regen Project,' which recycles waste PET bottles collected within Hyundai Heavy Industries Group.
This collaboration was planned to introduce eco-friendly resource-recirculating workwear to raise workers' environmental awareness and to establish a resource circulation system that activates sustainable consumption and production.
Hyosung TNC's 'Regen Project' is a leading domestic eco-friendly project that collaborates with local governments to produce recycled polyester fibers such as 'Regen Seoul,' 'Regen Jeju,' and 'Regen Ocean,' and manufactures clothing and bags with eco-friendly fashion brands.
In addition to this collaboration with Hyundai Heavy Industries Group and Hyundai Livart, the company is expanding partnerships with major corporations, such as signing an MOU for the 'Gwangyang Bay Resource Circulation Project' with POSCO and Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority last August.
According to this agreement, Hyundai Heavy Industries Group will establish a separate sorting system and separation and discharge of waste PET bottles at each business site.
Hyosung TNC will recycle the collected waste PET bottles to produce the eco-friendly recycled fiber 'regen,' and Hyundai Livart will use this to manufacture eco-friendly resource-recirculating workwear, which will be gradually introduced to Hyundai Heavy Industries Group workplaces starting from June next year.
