View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Taemin] Gyeonggi Province announced that from midnight to 6 p.m. on the 17th, 1,536 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed within the province. This is 63 more cases than the 1,473 confirmed during the same time period on the 15th, marking the largest number recorded in the province for that time frame.
Since there is still time until midnight, when the daily count is finalized, the total number of new cases announced at midnight on the 18th is expected to increase. In the province, from the 14th to the 16th, daily confirmed cases remained in the 2,000 range, and since the 30th of last month, the number of new cases exceeding 1,000 has continued for 17 consecutive days.
