Kyobo Life Insurance Holds 'Dasomi Soribit Santa' Event for Hearing-Impaired Children
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 17th that it held the 'Dasomi Soribit Santa Event' and delivered cochlear implant headbands and picture books to raise awareness of hearing impairment to children with hearing disabilities.
Now in its third year, this event is a program where Kyobo Life Insurance, together with the nonprofit organization Sarangui Dalpaengi, delivers Christmas gifts to families of children with hearing disabilities and creates happy memories.
Kyobo Life Insurance will deliver gifts to about 500 children with hearing disabilities. Employees attending the event made cochlear implant headbands (headbands that can fix the external device of the cochlear implant) and Christmas trees, and wrote letters containing messages of hope to encourage the children.
They also plan to deliver Christmas wreath artworks and letters of hope that can be decorated on walls or doors to help the children spend a happy Christmas.
Since 2019, Kyobo Life Insurance has been running the Wow Dasomi Soribit support project to assist low-income children with hearing disabilities in cochlear implant surgery and speech therapy. So far, it has supported 85 children with examination fees, surgery costs, and speech rehabilitation therapy fees. Next year, about 50 children will be selected to receive support for surgery costs and more.
