From last month until the third week of this month, Hanwha Systems sponsored finished kimchi products to 210 households of food-insecure children and elderly living alone in the Seoul area, and provided kimjang ingredients for 100 households of food-insecure children and elderly living alone at the Namsa-eup Administrative Welfare Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. In addition, it sponsored finished kimchi products to 225 households of national merit recipients, elderly living alone, and single-parent families in Gumi, Gyeongbuk Province, and delivered briquettes and heating oil to 48 households of national merit recipients, elderly living alone, and single-parent families in Gumi. It also supported heating costs for three months and delivered blankets and other heating supplies to 80 elderly living alone in Dongjak-gu, Seoul.
Since 2004, Hanwha Systems employees have personally made kimchi for kimjang every December and shared it with marginalized neighbors. Considering the COVID-19 situation since last year, the kimchi for kimjang has been delivered as finished products, and consolation goods are delivered through a non-face-to-face safe delivery method.
