[Asia Economy Reporter Ji Yeon-jin] KB Securities announced on the 17th that LG Display is expected to become a major OLED supplier for Apple's next-generation new products, including the Metaverse XR headset and Apple Car, which account for 42% of its total sales, maintaining a buy investment opinion and a target price of 25,000 won.
Dongwon Kim, a researcher at KB Securities, said, "It is highly likely that LG Group's component affiliates (LG Display, LG Innotek, etc.) will be selected as major component suppliers for Apple's upcoming new products," adding, "This year, the combined sales of LG Display and LG Innotek to Apple are expected to exceed 23 trillion won, and they have already been verified in the market through supplying iPhone components."
The Apple Car is expected to implement infotainment using large OLED touchscreens, an area where LG Display has strengths, while providing various iOS services through device integration with iPhone and iPad.

LG Display is expected to rapidly shift its business structure from the LCD business, which it heavily relied on in the past, to an OLED-centered business starting next year. Both the large OLED and small-to-medium OLED panel businesses are projected to return to profitability simultaneously for the first time in nine years, and the OLED business is expected to expand from focusing on iPhone to include Metaverse XR, iPad, MacBook, and more.
