View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] An incident occurred in which child sex offender Jo Doo-soon (69) was attacked by a man in his 20s who broke into his home in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province.
According to the Ansan Danwon Police Station on the 16th, at around 8:50 p.m. that day, a man in his 20s identified as Mr. A broke into Jo's villa located in Danwon-gu, Ansan, and struck Jo on the head with a blunt weapon.
Jo's wife, who was at the scene, visited a nearby community policing center to report the incident, and police who arrived at the scene arrested Mr. A on the spot on charges of special assault.
It was investigated that Mr. A entered Jo's house with his bare hands and used a blunt weapon found inside the house to commit the crime. Jo, who sustained a head injury, was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment, and it was reported that the injury was not serious.
Mr. A is also known to have attempted to break into Jo's residence in February while armed with a weapon, stating that he would "punish Jo Doo-soon."
