The Central District Prosecutors' Office Assigns Han Dong-su's Report Omission Case to the Anti-Corruption Cooperation Division
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] On the 16th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office announced that it has assigned the case of Han Dong-su, head of the Inspection Department at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, who was accused of omitting a report to the Ministry of Justice regarding the 'Lee Seong-yoon High Prosecutor's Office Chief Indictment Leak Suspicion,' to the Anti-Corruption and Strong Investigation Cooperation Division (Chief Prosecutor Cheon Ki-hong).
Earlier, on the 10th, the civic group Action Alliance for Establishing the Rule of Law filed a complaint against Han, accusing him of dereliction of duty and abuse of authority for deliberately omitting important facts discovered during the inspection of the indictment leak suspicion involving Lee Seong-yoon, Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office, from the report to the Ministry of Justice.
The 'indictment leak' suspicion arose after the indictment of Lee, who was non-detained prosecuted on charges of abuse of authority in May, was reported by the media the day after the prosecution by the prosecution. The Supreme Prosecutors' Office Inspection Department began an investigation under the Ministry of Justice's directive, examining access records to the prosecution's internal system.
Recently, suspicions have also been raised that the Inspection Department found a word processor file of the indictment edited on the work computers of Prosecutor General A and Prosecutor B, who are classified as close aides to Lee, but did not include this in the interim report to the Ministry of Justice.

The prosecution plans to review the contents of the complaint and either initiate a direct investigation or transfer the case to the police.
