Gangjin-gun Resumes Direct Bus Service to Seoul... Operates Twice Daily

[Gangjin＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Jeonnam Gangjin-gun announced on the 16th that it will change part of the existing direct bus route (Gangjin∼Yeongsanpo∼Naju∼Seoul) to a non-stop bus route (Gangjin∼Seoul) and operate it.

The non-stop bus route (Gangjin∼Seoul) had only operated direct buses passing through Yeongsanpo and Naju due to the financial difficulties of transportation companies caused by COVID-19 since January this year. However, on the 13th, after consultation with the express bus company Kumho Express Co., Ltd., it was decided to change part of the existing direct bus route to a non-stop bus to improve transportation convenience for residents and users.

Buses from Gangjin to Seoul operate four times a day at 8:20 AM, 10:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 5:00 PM, with the 8:20 AM and 2:00 PM buses running as non-stop (Gangjin∼Seoul) buses.

The fare is 35,800 KRW regardless of whether it is non-stop or direct. The non-stop bus takes 4 hours to reach Seoul, while the direct bus takes 5 hours.

Park Jeong-sik, Director of the Safety Disaster and Transportation Division, said, “Despite the stagnation of public transportation operations due to COVID-19, we thank the Kumho Express officials who cooperated for the convenience of residents.” He added, “We will continuously promote the operation of non-stop buses on the website and at terminals to increase the number of users, and we will do our best to provide transportation convenience for residents and visitors to Gangjin.”
