[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Hansol Paper, the No. 1 paper manufacturer in Korea, and M's Seed, which operates the specialty coffee brand Paul Bassett, are collaborating to strengthen ESG management.
Hansol Paper announced on the 16th that it has signed an "Agreement for the Development of Eco-friendly Paper Packaging to Strengthen ESG" with M's Seed.
Through this business agreement, the two companies plan to jointly develop products to replace single-use items in Paul Bassett stores with eco-friendly materials and explore various eco-friendly new businesses together.
Since October, M's Seed has introduced Hansol Paper's Terravas paper straw, an eco-friendly paper product coated with a water-soluble coating instead of polyethylene (PE), which is easy to recycle, at all Paul Bassett stores. In December, they plan to fully introduce Terravas paper cups.
Additionally, they will conduct joint research and testing to convert major single-use items in stores such as paper tissues, paper cutlery (forks, knives, etc.), paper lids, and drip and coffee bean packaging to paper materials.
Through this, the two companies expect to replace millions of plastic and aluminum single-use items used annually with recyclable paper materials.
