Tourism Organization Holds Immersive Tourism Content Exhibition with LG Uplus
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 16th that it will hold an immersive tourism content exhibition that allows indirect experiences of every corner of the Republic of Korea in a non-face-to-face environment, in collaboration with LG Uplus.
Under the theme ‘Local Train? My Travel Diary,’ this exhibition features 8K ultra-high-definition virtual reality (VR) videos playable in 360 degrees, media art, award-winning works from the Korea Tourism contest (photos and videos), digital books, and other digital content. The program includes various interactive experiences for visitors, expected to provide a unique travel interest. The event is held from today until January 30 next year at the basement first floor exhibition hall of Ilsangbiilsangui Teum, a culture space tailored for the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) operated by LG Uplus, located on Gangnam-daero, Seoul.
The interior of the exhibition hall, designed to reflect the characteristics of the MZ generation who prefer diverse activities and value hands-on experiences, is also intriguing. The exhibition space is themed around a ‘train’ to evoke the feeling of actually embarking on a trip. It is planned so that visitors can create an actual travel diary while experiencing tourism content. Visitors receive a travel diary at the entrance and can plan their trips by experiencing tourist attractions and popular restaurants recommended by MBTI travel region types. Using a diary decorating kit consisting of stickers, tape, and mini postcards, visitors can create personalized diaries and participate in events where they can win various prizes such as VR devices by promoting the exhibition on their social networking services (SNS).
Meanwhile, the exhibited contents will also be available on the organization’s website, YouTube channel, and LG Uplus application from the end of this month.
