Daejeon City Forms Cooperative Council for 'Local Talent Recruitment' in Public Institutions
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is forming and operating a cooperative council to expand the hiring of local talent by regional public institutions.
On the 16th, Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jeong met with Ban Jang-sik, President of the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, Kim Jang-sung, Director of the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, and Lee Kwang-seop, President of Hannam University, to discuss ways to expand the hiring of local talent by regional public institutions.
At the meeting, Mayor Heo and others agreed on forming a "Public Institution-Local University Win-Win Development Council" to activate the hiring of local talent by public institutions and universities located in Daejeon, and discussed plans for operating the council.
The council includes 16 public institutions subject to mandatory local talent hiring, such as the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, Korea National Railway Corporation, Agency for Defense Development, Korail Tech Co., Ltd., and Korea Gas Technology Corporation, as well as 16 universities including Chungnam National University, KAIST, and Hannam University.
Going forward, these institutions and universities plan to cooperate on ▲ expanding local talent hiring ▲ demand-tailored talent development to promote local employment ▲ hosting local talent hiring fairs.
The city plans to form and operate a separate working-level council for the efficient operation of the council.
The council was proposed by National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok at a meeting held on October 29 with university presidents and heads of public institutions in the Daejeon area.
