Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters Donates 15 Million Won in Scholarships to Vulnerable Students in Surrounding Areas

On the 13th, Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters held a scholarship award ceremony at the Gijang-eup Administrative Welfare Center in Gijang-gun, Busan.
The headquarters selected outstanding students from the surrounding area and awarded scholarships of 1.5 million KRW per student.
The scholarship recipients include basic livelihood security recipients in the power plant’s surrounding area, such as single-parent families, grandparent-headed families, and families with patients, selected in cooperation with local governments.
The scholarships were funded through a Love Fund voluntarily donated by employees.
Kim Jong-i, Director of External Cooperation, who attended the ceremony, said, “Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters will spare no effort to support local talents so that they do not give up their studies due to economic difficulties.”
Since 1990, Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters has sponsored a total of 14 billion KRW in scholarships to over 20,000 people.

In addition to scholarship payments, it runs educational scholarship projects worth about 1.9 billion KRW annually, including global talent development projects, Einstein classes and academic improvement programs, and support for native English instructors.
