The contest was held by KAMCO to discover commemorative projects that can contribute to the public and local communities.
Kim Ha-rim won the award with the idea titled “Beanjip: Transforming Empty Houses into Spaces Where Youth Bear Fruit (bean).”
The idea proposes renovating vacant houses and abandoned buildings on national land into cultural complex spaces where young people can pursue their dreams.
The idea was inspired by the increasing number of vacant houses in large cities, which has led to various social problems.
A key feature of this idea is supporting youth entrepreneurship to address the burden of rental fees on small business owners, which is a major challenge for young entrepreneurs.
In the proposal, Kim Ha-rim suggested ▲ supporting youth food service startups using local specialties ▲ providing studios for young poets in areas with a high elderly population and operating poetry academies for the elderly in those studios.
