The 58th Trade Day Commemoration: 'Gwangju Export Tower and Award Presentation Ceremony' Held

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju City and the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association held the "Gwangju Export Tower and Meritorious Service Award Ceremony" on the 14th to commemorate the 58th Trade Day, awarding the Export Tower to outstanding local export companies and recognizing meritorious trade contributors.
This year, in Gwangju City, a total of 18 export companies were honored with Export Tower awards, including Korea Alps Co., Ltd., which received the 600 million USD Tower.
Additionally, 16 executives and employees from export companies and related export organizations, including Daechang Co., Ltd., which was awarded the Gold Tower Industrial Medal, were recognized for their contributions to export promotion and received meritorious awards.
Jo In-cheol, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Economy of Gwangju City, Jang Dae-gyo, Head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, and other heads of local export-related organizations participated in the ceremony to encourage the representatives of the awarded companies.
In his congratulatory speech, Jo In-cheol, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Economy of Gwangju City, said, "I applaud the relentless challenges and innovative management of trade professionals despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19," and added, "We will strive to make Gwangju, the number one economic city, a 'win-win labor-management city' that is good for business and enterprise."
Jang Chun-sang, Chairman of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Enterprise Council of the Korea International Trade Association, also stated in his greeting, "The record-breaking export performance of our country this year owes much to Gwangju’s export companies in semiconductors, automobiles, and molds," and urged, "In the upcoming era of digital innovation, the industry, local governments, and export-related organizations must unite to find new opportunities and possibilities."
The Export Towers were awarded as follows: Korea Alps Co., Ltd. received the 600 million USD Tower; the 50 million USD Tower was awarded to NH International Co., Ltd.; the 20 million USD Tower to Sungil Inotech; the 5 million USD Tower to SM Pure Co., Ltd. and Goldline Co., Ltd.; the 3 million USD Tower to Dalma Electronics Co., Ltd., Buil ST Co., Ltd., Aegis Co., Ltd., Altech Co., Ltd., Toptech Korea Co., Ltd., Dongjin CNC, Sunmyeong Co., Ltd., and Cheonil Co., Ltd.; and the 1 million USD Tower to SNS Chemical Co., Ltd., In-Out Automation Co., Ltd., Kim’s Med Co., Ltd., Powertech Co., Ltd., and Yoonchang Co., Ltd.
For meritorious awards, Lee Gil-sang, CEO of Daechang Co., Ltd., received the Gold Tower Industrial Medal; the Presidential Citation was awarded to Park Chang-hoon, CEO of Turbo Korea Co., Ltd.; Choi Jun-hyuk, Executive Director of Howon Co., Ltd.; Jung Jong-ho, CEO of Changseong Precision Co., Ltd.; Kim Gyu-nam, Executive Director of Korea Alps Co., Ltd.; and Lim Chil-seop, Deputy General Manager of Korea Alps Co., Ltd.
The Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Citation was awarded to Ahn Joo-heon, CEO of Altech Co., Ltd.; Nam Chang-yeol, CEO of In-Out Automation Co., Ltd.; Kim Song-hee, CEO of Kim’s Med Co., Ltd.; Mo Sang-hoon, CEO of Toptech Korea Co., Ltd.; Kim Sun-mi, CEO of TDM Co., Ltd.; Kang Byung-il, Team Leader of Howon Co., Ltd.; Choi Jong-seok, CEO of Fine Special Vehicle Co., Ltd.; and Lim Min-ja, CEO of Sungil Inotech. The Korea International Trade Association Chairman’s Citation was awarded to Lee Byung-seok, Deputy Director of Nanum Tech Co., Ltd., and Kim Young-hwan, CEO of Ardie LLC.
Lee Kwon-jae, Head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association, said, "The Trade Day commemorative event is a place to recognize the valuable achievements made by our local trade professionals throughout the year," and added, "I hope this Export Tower and Meritorious Service Award Ceremony served as an occasion to celebrate the achievements of Gwangju’s trade professionals and to pledge a new leap forward."
