The Korea Social Welfare Society, a social welfare corporation specializing in child welfare, protects and supports marginalized neighbors in our society such as infants, children, and children with disabilities. Through this donation, Uniqlo plans to further strengthen its partnership with the Korea Social Welfare Society.
On the 6th, Uniqlo donated clothing worth about 7 million KRW to the Blue Cross Medical Volunteer Group, which is conducting awareness improvement activities to eliminate discrimination against people with disabilities. The Blue Cross Medical Volunteer Group was established in 1997 with the purpose of continuing the spirit of service and love of Dr. Jang Gi-ryeo Seongsan, a doctor who devoted his life to the poor. The donated clothing will be delivered to citizen supporters and activists with disabilities to improve awareness of disabilities.
Since last year, Uniqlo has been continuously engaged in activities to help marginalized groups in the local community through the Blue Cross Medical Volunteer Group. In August and December of last year, Uniqlo and the Blue Cross Medical Volunteer Group donated 3,000 functional clothing items and 500 winter coats, respectively, to elderly people vulnerable to heat waves and cold weather.
