[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] On the morning of the 14th at 3:49 AM, Moon Seonghyeok, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, instructed to "mobilize all available resources to fully focus on search and rescue operations" regarding the collision accident between a merchant ship and a fishing vessel that occurred off Geomundo, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has currently deployed Coast Guard vessels, fishery patrol ships, and other search and rescue forces to the accident site for search and rescue operations. Support for search and rescue efforts has also been requested from private vessels in the vicinity of the accident area.
