Noru Paint Produces Eco-Friendly Bio Paint Products
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] LX Hausys and Noroo Paint have joined forces to expand their eco-friendly product business in the domestic building materials market.
On the 13th, LX Hausys CEO Kang Gye-woong and Noroo Paint CEO Jo Seong-guk attended the signing ceremony of the "LX Hausys-Noroo Paint Eco-friendly Coating Business Expansion Memorandum of Understanding," the companies announced.
This MOU centers on LX Hausys supplying micro powder material as an additive for coatings to Noroo Paint, and Noroo Paint producing eco-friendly bio-coating products using this material.
LX Hausys' micro powder is a polymer material synthesized from plant oils such as corn and sugarcane, consisting of fine particles smaller than 10㎛ that are biodegradable in natural conditions. Since it is a polymer material synthesized from plant oils, it reduces the levels of endocrine-disrupting substances compared to the petroleum-based microplastic additives mainly used in coatings.
Earlier this month, the two companies completed the development of water-based coatings for construction and furniture and oil-based coatings for automobiles and electronic products using the micro powder. Noroo Paint plans to pursue domestic and international eco-friendly certifications for these products and begin full-scale production starting next year.
The oil-based coating products are expected to attract more attention as they can realize matte color surface designs, which have recently gained popularity, when applied to car interiors and smartphone exteriors. Going forward, the companies plan to collaborate on developing various eco-friendly interior products such as kitchen furniture and doors using these coatings, further strengthening business synergy.
