[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] On the 13th, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang explained the 'stability-focused' policy for China's economy next year, decided at the Central Economic Work Conference held from the 8th to the 10th, during a video conversation with David Malpass, President of the World Bank (WB). The Central Economic Work Conference is a meeting where China determines the direction of its economic policies for the coming year.
During the conversation, Premier Li stated, "As the world's largest developing country, China will prioritize stability in its economic work next year and pursue growth within stability." He emphasized, "In response to new downward pressures on the economy, we will place even greater importance on stable growth and comprehensively promote stable growth, structural adjustment, and reform advancement."

Premier Li reaffirmed the proactive fiscal policy and prudent monetary policy stance set at the Central Economic Work Conference, saying, "We will not only strengthen our resolve but also face difficulties head-on and take strong measures to address them." He added, "We will enhance market vitality and growth momentum by adopting market-oriented and law-based approaches, and increase the intensity of fiscal and financial policy support for small and medium-sized enterprises and small businesses that sustain mass employment, thereby strengthening the resilience and potential of the Chinese economy." He stressed, "We have the capability to achieve the main targets set for the year."
