This program was organized in collaboration between the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission and Chosun University to share concerns of youth regarding job discovery and policy participation methods.
On the day, Chosun University students proposed diverse and innovative ideas through expert consultations, case studies of other cities and provinces, and interviews with responsible public officials.
Regarding jobs, the biggest concern for youth, alternatives were prepared such as ▲ operating a program to discover and explore small and medium-sized enterprises where youth want to work (Youth SME Exploration Team) ▲ introducing professions directly to students by professionals (Mentor-Mentee system between students and professionals) ▲ enacting ordinances to operate a mock city council program to activate youth policy participation.
In addition, policy alternatives such as enacting ordinances for a reward exchange system for disposable plastic cups to promote recycling separation and enacting ordinances and promoting campaigns to prevent drunk driving were also proposed.
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission awarded certificates of completion to the students who participated in the program and encouraged them, and plans to review ways to institutionalize the policy alternatives proposed by the students in cooperation with Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Gwangju City Council.
