Jinju City and Jinju Office of Education Discuss Measures to Increase Student Vaccination Rates
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the morning of the 13th, Jinju City and the Jinju Office of Education held a meeting at the Jinju Office of Education to discuss school quarantine measures and ways to increase vaccination rates among children and adolescents to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) among local students.
The meeting was convened with the attendance of Shin Jong-woo, Deputy Mayor of Jinju City, Park Young-joo, Superintendent of Jinju Office of Education, and related officials. It was organized to protect children and adolescents, who are exposed to risks due to the nationwide increase in confirmed cases and the emergence of new variants following the phased transition to normal daily life, from COVID-19 infection.
The attendees discussed the necessity of vaccination to protect children and adolescents, whose vaccination rates are relatively low, and ways to improve vaccination rates.
Teachers directly responding at the educational sites and representatives of parents also attended the meeting to listen to various opinions on COVID-19 prevention in schools and urged cooperation in students' compliance with quarantine rules and vaccination.
