Krafton to Make 'Battlegrounds' Free on the 12th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Krafton will switch 'PUBG: Battlegrounds' to a free-to-play service starting from the 12th of next month. This will apply to all platforms, including PC and consoles.
According to Krafton on the 10th, based on the slogan 'Battlegrounds for Everyone,' they decided to make the game free so that all users can enjoy playing Battlegrounds.
Krafton explained that Battlegrounds, released in 2017, has established itself as a leading game in the global battle royale market, selling over 75 million copies across PC and consoles.
To commemorate the free-to-play transition of Battlegrounds, a pre-registration microsite has been opened, offering various events and benefits such as in-game items.

Kim Chang-han, CEO of Krafton, stated, "Through this service transition, I believe a 'true Battlegrounds for Everyone' with more users participating has opened," adding, "We will continue to provide content that users can participate in and enjoy, striving to expand the PUBG intellectual property (IP)."
