60s Man with Torn Palm on Jeju Biyangdo 'Emergency Transfer'
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] A man in his 60s whose palm was torn by wire on Biyangdo Island, Hallim-eup, Jeju City, was urgently transported by the Jeju Coast Guard.
According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 10th, at around 8:10 a.m. that day, a report was received from the Biyangdo Health Center in Hallim-eup, Jeju City, stating that a man in his 60s had his palm torn about 5 cm by wire while repairing a generator and needed to be transported to a hospital in Jeju City.
Accordingly, the Jeju Coast Guard Hallim Police Substation dispatched a coastal rescue boat and arrived at Biyangdo at around 8:22 a.m. They boarded the emergency patient, provided first aid to the palm torn about 5 cm, and arrived at Hallim Port at 8:32 a.m., where they safely handed him over to the waiting 119 ambulance.
Meanwhile, this year, the Jeju Coast Guard has safely transported a total of 44 emergency patients, including 3 patients who occurred on Biyangdo, using patrol vessels and other means.
