Korea Electrical Safety Corporation Hosts '2021 Korea Electrical Safety Awards'... "Expanding the National Energy Safety Network"
Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit Awarded to Kim Dong-jun, Hanwha Energy Center Director, and 14 Government Decorations Presented to Meritorious Persons

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] Korea Electrical Safety Corporation held the '2021 Korea Electrical Safety Awards' event on the 9th at the Fairmont Ambassador Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, to honor meritorious persons.
Now in its 24th year, the Electrical Safety Awards is one of the largest events in the energy safety sector, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Corporation. It recognizes individuals who have contributed to national and social development through the prevention of electrical disasters and gathers commitment toward a safe society for the public.
At this year's Electrical Safety Awards, a total of 20 honors were presented, including 14 government awards such as the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit to individuals and organizations who have worked hard to foster the electrical safety industry and manage safety, as well as 3 commendations and certificates from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Kim Dong-jun, Director of Hanwha Energy Center, who received the highest honor, the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit, contributed to the expansion of renewable energy facilities and related technological development through the development of proprietary technical solutions to enhance the safety of Energy Storage System (ESS) equipment and stable operational results from field application. Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of Halla Electrical Safety Management, and Kim Eun-sik, CEO of Seum ENC, who received the Industrial Service Merit, were recognized respectively for their contributions to the establishment of electrical safety management systems, improvement of industrial workforce safety management capabilities, safe construction at industrial sites, and the establishment of a safety culture.
Park Ji-hyun, President of Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, said in his opening remarks, "The massive wave of renewable energy expansion and carbon neutrality is presenting new challenges to our industry," adding, "Along with the enforcement of the Electrical Safety Management Act, we will strive to expand the national energy safety net through the establishment of a comprehensive electrical safety information system and an ESS safety evaluation center."

Meanwhile, about 90 people attended the event, including Park Ki-young, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; Lee Hak-young, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Industry, Trade, Energy, Small and Medium Enterprises Committee; Assembly members Kang Hoon-sik and Lim Hae-jong; Lim Hae-jong, President of Korea Gas Safety Corporation; Park Nam-gyu, Director of the National Forensic Service; Kim Cheol-hwan, President of the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers; as well as industry workers, meritorious persons, and their families.
