Kim Min-su, CEO of The Mamma, Gives Lecture on 'ESG Management' at Agri-Food Venture Awards
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] The Momma announced on the 10th that CEO Kim Minsu attended the '2021 Agricultural Food Technology Venture PangPang Day' hosted by the Foundation of Agricultural Technology Commercialization and Transfer and gave a lecture on 'Cases of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Management Strategy Implementation.'
The event was held the previous day at the main auditorium of the Foundation of Agricultural Technology Commercialization and Transfer, targeting 30 regional agricultural food sector venture-certified companies. It aimed to introduce this year's support projects of the foundation and provide education to venture companies to strengthen their commercialization capabilities.
CEO Kim was invited as a speaker at this event and emphasized that ESG will be an important factor in future corporate management. He explained, "The era of evaluating companies solely by the size of sales and profits is over. No matter how much money is earned, if a company negatively impacts the environment and society and lacks transparent governance, it will be instantly shunned by consumers and investors."
To practice ESG and achieve sustainable growth, The Momma established an ESG Committee last August. This laid the foundation for all organizations to systematically carry out ESG activities based on concrete ESG management strategies and implementation plans. The committee is responsible for establishing ESG management strategies, providing advice related to ESG activities, monitoring, and management.
Additionally, CEO Kim delivered an encouraging message to prospective CEOs at the event by sharing The Momma's corporate management philosophy and know-how.
CEO Kim said, "The numerous experiences and episodes from The Momma, which started at a neighborhood mart and has come to discuss future technologies, are valuable assets to share with prospective CEOs preparing for a new beginning. I sincerely hope that the management philosophy that made The Momma what it is today will serve as nourishment for these prospective CEOs so that they can leap beyond Korea to become global leaders."
