Ryukyung-gi Jungnang-gu Mayor Participates in Afghan Women's Human Rights Protection SNS Challenge!
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On December 10th, marking Human Rights Day, Ryu Gyeonggi, Mayor of Jungnang District, participated in the Afghan Women's Human Rights Protection SNS Challenge.
The Afghan Women's Human Rights Protection SNS Challenge is a relay campaign launched in August by 49 female members of the National Assembly, including Kim Sang-hee, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, aimed at urging the government’s role and forming international public opinion on the issue of Afghan women's human rights.
Participating in the challenge upon the nomination of Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak District, Ryu Gyeonggi, Mayor of Jungnang District, conveyed a message stating, "Our attention is a great strength in protecting the human rights of Afghan women," calling for interest and support to restore the dignity of Afghan women. He added, "In a situation where human rights that should be rightfully respected and enjoyed are threatened, I hope that the rights to education, employment, and freedom of movement for Afghan women will be restored as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, Mayor Ryu Gyeonggi nominated Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin District, Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun District, and Jeong Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam District, as the next participants.
