[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province, selected and commended four outstanding public officials who have become role models through proactive administrative work.
According to the city on the 9th, the selected outstanding public officials are Chief Officer Choi Seong-yeong of the Growth Strategy Office, Chief Officer Kim Hee-gon of the General Civil Affairs Division, Chief Officer Choi Hwan-hyeok of the Health and Hygiene Division, and Chief Officer Lee Tae-gyu of the Construction Division.
Chief Officer Choi Seong-yeong was recognized for his achievements in developing the cultural tourism resources scattered throughout Jeongeup City, laying the foundation for growth momentum, and was selected for the grand prize.
In particular, he was evaluated to have made great efforts to secure independent funding through projects such as the installation of the Mirsaem Fountain at Yongsanho Lake, a core project in building the triangle tourism belt connecting Naejangsan-Munhwa Square-Yongsanho, the romantic sandy beach, the circular train within Munhwa Square, and the creation of waterfront spaces.
Chief Officer Kim Hee-gon was praised for actively resolving issues related to shared land (such as unclear land boundaries and difficulties in exercising ownership rights).
Chief Officer Choi Hwan-hyeok was recognized for his efforts to prevent the local spread of COVID-19 by operating selective screening clinics year-round since last year and responding promptly to symptomatic individuals and confirmed cases.
Chief Officer Lee Tae-gyu contributed to providing convenience to citizens by repeatedly visiting related institutions such as the Iksan Office to construct new restrooms within the Jeongeupcheon National River.
The city comforted the selected outstanding public officials for their hard work and awarded them additional points for work performance and S-grade incentives for performance bonuses.
The city annually selects outstanding public officials who have actively promoted work from the citizens' perspective and contributed to establishing and spreading a culture of proactive administration within the public service community.
The selection criteria include a proactive attitude toward work, creatively and challengingly promoting policies, striving to achieve results, and serving as a role model for other public officials.
Mayor Yoo Jin-seop said, “When the efforts of employees accumulate little by little, the happiness felt by citizens will come as double or triple the employees’ efforts at some point,” and added, “Please continue to do your best to actively promote work from the citizens’ perspective so that Jeongeup can become a city where citizens are happy.”
