[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] The Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council announced on the 9th that it has comprehensively reviewed and approved the revised version of the '2022 Gyeongsangnam-do Budget and Fund Operation Plan.'
The scale of next year's budget is set at a total of 11.3303 trillion KRW, an increase of 709.8 billion KRW (6.7%) compared to the previous year's budget.
The Budget and Accounts Special Committee focused on enhancing fiscal soundness and efficiency by reviewing whether the budget allocation was for regional economic revitalization, daily life recovery, job creation, public safety, or if there were any unnecessary or populist budget items.
As a result, the revenue budget was adjusted by changing the funding source for the public facility rooftop greening project. On the expenditure side, 440 million KRW was added to four projects including steep slope and unpaved road maintenance, while 2.877 billion KRW was cut from twelve projects including the establishment of an integrated data center fault section analysis system, resulting in a total reduction of 2.437 billion KRW.
The fund operation plan allocated a total of 514.158 billion KRW across ten funds, including the Inter-Korean Exchange Fund.
The reviewed budget for next year will be finally approved at the 6th plenary session of the 390th regular meeting on the 14th.
