BBQ Enhances App Service for Customers Using Gifticons
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Genesis BBQ, the largest chicken franchise in Korea, is enhancing the convenience of using gifticons (E-coupons) through its own application (app). This is due to the increasing demand for gifticon services following the recent trend of contactless consumption.
According to BBQ on the 8th, orders have been increasing through various promotions linked to gifticons, such as the launch of new products like Kkam-eok (Water) Chicken, Nunmajeun Dak, and Father’s Chicken, as well as ongoing discounts on KakaoTalk Gifticon since early this month. On the 3rd, gifticon orders through the BBQ app surged more than fivefold compared to usual, temporarily causing the server to crash.

To prevent server downtime recurrence, BBQ has expanded its servers and introduced a 'menu change function' when using gifticons, updating the app to provide greater convenience to customers. With this update, when using gifticons through the BBQ app, customers can change the menu, and those who want to place 'additional orders' can do so by paying the difference before ordering.
