Muju-gun Selected as an Excellent Institution for the Self-Signature Verification System
Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation Awarded... The Only One in Jeonbuk
[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju County announced on the 7th that it has been selected as an outstanding institution in issuing Self-Signature Confirmation Certificates and will receive a commendation from the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety selected 15 local governments nationwide among cities, counties, and districts, and Muju County is the only one in Jeollabuk-do.
The Self-Signature Confirmation System is a system where administrative agencies verify that the signature was made by the person themselves.
Since the Self-Signature Confirmation System was implemented in December 2012, this is the first time Muju County has received an award (institutional commendation), adding significance.
According to Muju County, the issuance performance of Self-Signature Confirmation Certificates compared to seals increased from 14.87% last year to 21.85% this year, rising by 6.98 percentage points.
Muju County has been promoting the system through various channels such as the main page of the county office website, the electronic display board at the main gate, meetings of town and township chiefs, and media. They have also cooperated with vehicle registration agencies to submit Self-Signature Confirmation Certificates instead of seals when transferring vehicle registration, focusing on spreading the system.
Hwang In-hong, the head of Muju County, stated, “Taking this commendation as an opportunity, we will continue to promote the convenient and safe advantages of the Self-Signature Confirmation System to the residents so that more residents can use it.”
Meanwhile, the Self-Signature Confirmation Certificate can be issued by visiting the civil service offices of city, county, or district offices, or the residents’ autonomous centers of towns, townships, or neighborhoods in person, verifying identity, and then signing.
