Kakao Enterprise Collaborates with Seoul National University for AI Joint Research and Talent Development

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kakao Enterprise is joining hands with the Seoul National University Artificial Intelligence (AI) Institute to conduct joint research and nurture talent.
Kakao Enterprise announced on the 7th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Seoul National University AI Institute for "cutting-edge AI technology joint research, AI talent development, and utilization."
This plan expands the scope of research following the ongoing joint project since last September on "speech synthesis language processing unit and speech database (DB) construction."
Kakao Enterprise has joined Seoul National University's industry-academia cooperation program, 'AIIS Membership,' and will collaborate on AI technology joint research in computer vision, speech processing, and natural language processing fields, as well as explore AI utilization methods across various industries.
Focusing on research to implement advanced AI assistants, the company plans to significantly advance the AI assistant Casper applied to the comprehensive work platform 'Kakao Work' within five years. The company explained that it will implement an 'AI Advisor' service to support smart decision-making.
They also plan to continuously organize events to share cutting-edge AI research achievements. Academic events, seminars, and programs for AI talent development will be planned and operated.
Jang Byung-tak, Director of the Seoul National University AI Institute, said, "Through Kakao Enterprise, the AI research from Seoul National University’s laboratories will have opportunities to be utilized in various real-world applications," adding, "I hope it will also provide excellent AI talents at Seoul National University with opportunities to develop technologies needed by society."
